Construction

Woolworths has appointed Evolve Constructions as the Principal Contractor to deliver the new centre.

Work will be undertaken across Monday-Saturday most weeks, with no works on Sunday and public holidays.

To ask questions or make comment about construction, please contact Andrew, at Evolve Constructions by email: a.sgarbossa@evolveconstructions.com.au

The safety of the community and workers is our highest priority, so please follow all directions if you are walking, riding, or driving near the construction site.

There will be some machinery and construction noise as we deliver this project, however our contractor is mindful they are working within a residential area and will seek to minimise inconvenience. We appreciate the understanding and patience of our neighbours during the construction phase.

Sod-turn to officially commence construction

Elected representatives and traditional owners joined the Woolworths team and construction partners for a welcome to country, smoke ceremony, and formal sod turn to celebrate the start of construction in late July 2022.

Design features

The overall design creates an open, low scale centre, with inviting, active spaces facing the street. Around 12% of the site will be dedicated to green space and landscaping, which is over 2,300m2.

We’re also planning a destination for the local community, with a public space on River Drive for residents to visit and meet up.

Some of the technical planning detail

The land is currently zoned for residential development. We lodged a Development Application to change the land use, called a Material Change of Use (MCU) request to seek approval to deliver a retail centre. Public Notification has been completed and Council has approved the project.
