New neighbourhood retail centre for Bellmere.

Construction work has commenced to deliver the new Woolworths Bellmere retail and neighbourhood centre.

Along with a full line Woolworths supermarket, 15 specialty stores are planned to boost local convenience retail in the growing Bellmere community. in the future the project will also service the planned Caboolture West community.

Over 10% of the site will be dedicated to open space, landscaping, and community use, such as a new playground. Ample at grade parking will also be provided.

The project includes a signalised intersection upgrade at the corner of River Road and Bellmere Drive, which is already under construction as an early project deliverable.

These works follow approval by Moreton Bay Regional Council earlier in 2022.

Woolworths is targeting a 4-Star Green Star development rating by the Green Building Council of Australia, with solar panels and rainwater detention and re-use.

The supermarket will also feature the popular drive-through pick-up service for Woolworths groceries ordered online.

The project is expected to take 12 months to construct, with likely opening in mid-2023 depending on weather and construction progress. Around 80 jobs will be created during construction, with around 230 local jobs at the centre when operating.

Economic benefits and jobs

The project will generate around 80 jobs during construction and around 230 jobs when the centre is open, offering employment to support many local households.

At nearly 2 hectares the site is large enough for a full-line supermarket, specialty stores, along with car parking and additional services such as a drive-through pick-up service for Woolworths groceries ordered online.

We lodged a Development Application with Moreton Bay Regional Council in June 2020 and Council has approved the project.
